The Alston Social Day Unit is a welcoming community space offering support, social connection and activities for people of all ages.
Mondays (9:00am – 12:00pm)For parents, carers and children.Come along to enjoy a coffee, take part in activities and meet new people in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays (10:00am – 3:00pm)Everyone is welcome to drop in for a coffee and a chat.We also offer a range of weekly activities, including:

  • Chair yoga
  • Fit4All
  • Crafts
  • Board games

Volunteer Opportunity – Alston Social Day Unit

Alston Medical Practice is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to support our Social Day Unit, which runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The Social Day Unit has been a huge success and is something the practice is very proud of. It makes a real difference to the wellbeing and quality of life of our clients.

How You Can Help
Volunteers can support the unit in a variety of ways, including:

  • Transport – Helping clients get to and from the unit
  • Catering – Assisting with food and refreshments
  • Social Interaction – Spending time talking and engaging with clients

Flexible Commitment
There is no firm commitment required. We operate a monthly rota, so any time you are able to offer is greatly appreciated.
Your support will make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
